About Us Antique Fever, in Laramie, Wyoming, is owned by John and Misty Hester, and specializes in Early American Oak Furniture from the Golden Age of Oak (1895-1930).
John and Misty came to Laramie, Wyoming via the U.S. Army. John was with the University of Wyoming Army ROTC program since August of 1997, and both he and his wife, Misty, fell in love with Laramie and its surrounding area.
Although Antique Fever opened its doors in September 2001, John and Misty have been collecting Early American Oak Furniture for over 12 years! In 1990, while looking for furniture for their house, they came across a 1926 Oval Oak dining room table. (See our Antique Oak Dining Tables and start your own antique collection). They were amazed at the quality of craftsmanship and the beauty of aged oak. They have been hooked ever since.
Then one day while visiting friends in Virginia, they decided to go out and buy a small antique paper towel holder for their kitchen. A few hours later and they had bought enough antiques to fill a 30 foot by 15 foot storage unit. About a month later, John flew back and drove a large truck full of antiques all the way back to Laramie and Antique Fever was born. Misty picked the name, Antique Fever, because she said that is what John gets when he goes into a really good antique store.
Besides oak furniture, Antique Fever, also carries pine primitives, as well as some mahogany and walnut pieces. The store also has numerous kitchen collectables and also some very collectable WWII Aviation art by artists, like William Phillips, Robert Taylor, and Keith Ferris. Caution: WWII Aviation is Spoken Here! John, being a history major, has been collecting these prints for over 20 years and loves to hear and tell the stories about the men and their machines. So, come in and say hi. We are right off of Interstate 80 and visit the historic downtown of Laramie, Wyoming.
